BLDGBLOG

I’ve had the privilege of knowing a number of architectural students during my time in TH as a result of my involvement in rag. During the course of working with them to come up with designs for the floats, I have developed a better appreciation for design in general and in particular a fascination for architecture.

I can’t claim to be very knowledgeable about the field of architecture at all, especially when compared to how talented and erudite of these students. Hence I can’t say I am able to appreciate good design as well as well as they can, but this doesn’t stop me from being able to appreciate it nonetheless.

hey man.. interesting collection of pics, vids, comments on your blog.

i guess appreciating good architecture is as fundamental as appreciating good food, or good films, or a good chat with a loved one - all are carefully orchestrated works of art. don't need a Degree to appreciate good food, same way you don't need a degree to appreciate good architecture.

and i guess we are in the stage of life where we have to constantly evaluate and reevaluate ourselves, and hopefully whatever goes into and comes out of that will shape our adulthood.

great job on rag, by the way. was with a number of eusoff friends during the rehearsal night, and they did say none of their raggers outlasted you as far as commitment was concerned. i guess the general reaction to "brian made the wings" was "wtf! brian's still around!" plus a whole lot of respect.

cheers, and keep posting arch stuff on your blog. =P
